I want something really creative and thoughtful. My mother is turning 40 on the eighteenth. I had to do 40 of something. I did some of these cards at the flower from this websight http://www.making-greeting-cards.com/birthday-cards-ideas.html and I was going to put the sometihng different on each of the internal parts of them. has not really solved. What should I make? (in addition to food. I can not cook for my life.)

Make her a rose with 40 pedals on it. On each pedal put a catchy phrase or one of the many reasons you love her. You can make the stem out of a cardboard tube and you can make the wire frame of the pedals out of wires mesh or thin bendable steel.
