If I were going to spend $40, I’d go to the C Level restaurant on Harbor Island. Lunches and dinners for 2 are about that cost, unless you drink a lot, and it is one of the most fabulous restaurants I’ve experienced in San Diego. I also think that gift certificates bought there can be used at any of the Cohn restaurant group, which includes Indigo Grill, Kemo Sabe, and a few others.
Yes,
This is a type person that has little free time i think it is a nice gift and useful.
Depending on your areas cost of living I might try 50. as things are so costly and many people don’t know or have the time to look around for a better priced decent place to eat.
A lot depends how old the person is and what live their lifestyle is money wise!
Either way it’s a good idea. Go with it.
A restaurant gift certificate is a great idea for a physician who doesn’t have much time to cook. However, there are a lot of great local restaurants in town. I would go with one of those (perhaps from the Gaslamp District) instead of a chain.

I think something American is a great idea. A mall certificate is also a suggestion.
