My new neighbor just brought over cookies and toys for my daughter. I didn ‘t get them something. Too late to buy them a gift in return? I don ‘t want to seem rude. Please help.
you should give them a box of **** and shout “this is for giving a present so late that I can’t give you one in return you son of a *****!” and then beat there dog.
Haha that always happens to me…. you could try just being honest and saying, “Oh I didn’t get anything for you, but I really want to return your kindness, etc” and get them a gift later (hopefully not from after-christmas sales….)
Or if you have anything around the house/can bake anything that owuld be good too?
Anyway usually people don’t expect anything in return if you guys didn’t talk about exchanging gifts ahead of time, but it’s nice to give them something back.
It is christmas eve tomorrow, so you have a whole day to buy them something, gift wrap it and then give it to them! This kind of thing happens all the time, so it’s handy that shops don’t close on xmas eve!
Stores in england are open for shorter houras but theyre still open on christmas eve
But if theyre knew you’ll want to make a good impression so just home make them somnething to eat and get theyre children(if they have any) a small toy aswell hope i helped
you still have time to get something…another hint…I have a closet in my apt where I store things I buy for just that reason…I keep an assortment of present grade things so when something unexpected comes up or I need a hostess gift… I just have to wrap.
Rip down your neightbors fence. Get some mayonaise from your fridge, and some paper bags. Fill each bag with a fence post, a big glob of mayo, and slap a bumpa sticka to each. Give them out with a smile.
Thank them and invite them to Christmas dinner, if you are having one. If not, just keep your eyes open for some way to return the kindness some time. A last minute rushed gift wouldn’t really do it. They were probably just being nice and got pleasure over baking and buying and bringing it over to you. Are they older? Older people just love to do that.
It wouldn’t be pleasurable for you to rush out and grab something they might not even like. It was a friendship offer. Return the offer with more friendship rather than a sloppily wrapped Chia Pet. Send the kids over on Christmas to thank them personally for the toys if possible.
Haha noo. its not too late. Just get something and pretend you were going to give it to him/her on Christmas day. Go over (on Christmas) around lunch with a Christmassy snack and a nice gift, and hopefully it’ll look like that was your original plan. If not, you can just say things got all backed up and you’re sorry you didn’t share gifts at the same time. I’m sure it won’t matter though because you’ll be giving the gift on Christmas, so technecally it’s not late. Merry Christmas!
how nice of them!
heres a good, easy gift idea in return:
movie night basket- gift card to your best local pizza place (since they are new to the neighborhood!) and a $5 gift card to the nearest movie rental place, some microwave popcorn and candies! great last minute gift for anyone.
I actually did not get anything from my neighbors for Xmas, but they do so much for me all year long - have done home repairs and mowed my lawn while refusing to accept money - I gave them a Pizza Hut and Blockbuster’s gift card and they loved it. A plant and good candies would be nice too.
Usually a really heart warming card. You can get one from Hall Mark. You say they got your daughter a toy? You should get them a really nice gift basket. You can make one too. Get crimped confetti put it in a decent sized basket (wooden) and put hot choco mix in it, Cinamaon Sticks, Chocolate (dark>milk>white), a small figure (stuffed animal) and maybe a candle. Hoped that helped!! =DD merry christmas

No, it’s not too late, just go to the store and buy them one of those pre-made baskets with treats/tea/biscuits/shampoo or whatever or make your own.
Bake something, it seems less like you ran out and bought a last-minute gift.

GIFT CARDS!
everyone says they are so impersonal but think about it they always get used for something they truely want.
